The proposed idea to use Manston as a cargo airport making flights 24/7, including night flights is an ill thought out plan that will have detrimental affect on Ramsgate and the surrounding areas. There has been a burgeoning property market in this area that has attracted many people from outside the area. This has a brought about a resurgence in business, property development and community cultural activity making the area more attractive. Noise pollution from regular flights will alter the atmosphere of the area from a peaceful relaxing place to a one to be avoided. This in turn will be damaging to the local business and its workforce and serve to undo the hard worktime and money that has into making Ramsgate such a lively attractive place to live. Further to this, the environment will be affected by the constant stream of aviation fuel in the atmosphere. There will also be an increase in heavy goods vehicles at Manston and the surrounding area as the increase cargo intake will have to loaded and taken to the destination.
