As a person living under the flightpath I wish to object to this DCO in the strongest possible terms.

The reasons are many but predominantly the number of night flights being proposed. RSP have sought to and continue to mislead and obsfuscate Thanet residents regarding this.

I was unfortunate enough to live in Ramsgate when we did have night flights and can say that even with the relatively modest amount they were extremely disruptive and completely change your quality of life.

I don’t need to repeat all the evidence here regarding sleep disturbance, the affect on children’s education, pollution etc.

All the evidence says there is very little chance of a cargo hub at Manston succeeding, it’s self evidently NOT a hub and there is little current demand or projected demand.

So.. the way I see it, granting the CDO is a fail/fail for Thanet - we are either left with a major land resource left to rot ( or more likely RSP throw there hands up in two or three years and say they did their best but.. we have no choice, and apply for planning permission for housing ),

Or worse still, an airport that would would be disastrous for Thanet and particular Ramsgate. It will kill the tourist industry that has been steadily growing over the past few years.

Despite all the assertions, even in the unlikely event it was successful, it would provide little in the way of quality employment for Thanet locals.

I’m well aware that many would say my objections are nimbyism and frankly I don’t care - having invested heavily in Ramsgate both financially and emotionally I have no wish to see it destroyed.

Please throw this out and let the current owners. people with a track record of success in stark contract to RSP, get on with generating the area.
