I consider Manston Airport to be:-
- of national importance for future pilot and engineering training especially as so many airfield are being sold for housing development. There is a pilot shortage yet we allow this to happen.
- for future capacity, which is actually needed now,
- So that the pilots I work with have a large runway available for diversions in an emergency
- For providing professional, highly trained jobs for the young people of Thanet who have very few opportunities within the local area.
- For cargo capacity. With LHR and LGW at capacity we need a purpose built freight hub especially for the changes BREXIT will cause.
