I cannot believe that in this day and age of pollution concerns, including what is happening in the rest of the world, this application to run a 24/7 cargo hub at Manston is even being considered. How can RiverOak even think that this would be allowed by Government/Councils etc. I’m not going to write about what this would do to the environment, nor proceed to tell you what the health risks are to residents all over Thanet, as this has already been categorised by probably the whole population of Kent and any affected surrounding areas. If this application is approved, then I suggest the people who approve it actually come and live on the flight paths for a week to see how they cope. Obviously they would not as there is no sleep, environment would be lethal, especially as they would be flying low to get to Manston. Please check with the schools around Heathrow, they have specially made hubs for children to be taught, why do you think the local councils are fighting against the extra runway. If Thanet council are so strapped for cash, take on the government funding to build new homes, that is so sorely needed. PLEASE, PLEASE do not even consider this horrendous application, this will not create jobs for locals as no locals will be living in Thanet, if this did go through, you could kiss goodbye to Thanet, tourism and the residents. This is the 21st century, why are we going backwards with cargo flights.
