My overall positive thoughts in regards to the opening of Manston as an airport are: • Jobs – particularly for local people – giving access to high level companies • Training for a wide variety of jobs, from Aviation Skills, to ancillary staff • Education to graduate level linked to local universities and colleges, and apprenticeships • Regeneration of Thanet • An airport from where emergency relief services could help other nations and our forces • Continuation of a suitable environment for wild life being provided in Pegwell Nature Reserve and around the airport, with quieter planes being available owing to developments in technology and engineering. I have concerns about access to the site via the A299, and would request access to the Manston Airport site with as little as possible of the B2190 being used for lorries and cars entering and leaving the airport.
