I've lived here for 67 years. In that time I've seen first hand the ups and downs of Manston airfield. This part of East Kent is so full of potential. It's the only part of the UK which is close to Europe and has a sea port at Ramsgate ready to run and an airport with the second longest runway in the country, also ready to go. Excellent road and rail links too. With the current political uncertainty, Brexit and all that, the airport should be put to good use. The jobs and commerce it will bring here is vast in it's scope and variety. Traditionally Thanet is an area of low wages and high unemployment. We need the Airport. My grandchildren need employment for their future. The country needs the airport for security reasons too. Developing the airport will regenerate East Kent and bring wealth to the UK economy. A housing estate will not!
