I am writing on my behalf,[Redacted], to state that I am opposed to re-establishing Manston Airport as an airport for freight because:

  1. At a time when extra housing is desperately needed, this site is an ideal brownfield site for housing development
  2. There is compelling evidence that RSP proposals and Azimuth finds are 'financially' flawed
  3. A number of recent reports have strongly suggested that Manston is very UNlikely to become a viable airfreight operation
  4. At a time when Ramsgate is showing a resurgence in popularity as a tourist destination, the noise and air pollution, day and NIGHT, is likely to have a detrimental impact on this momentum, and thus the future the solvency of local businesses. Let alone its impact on local residents, especially those under the flight path. Furthermore cargo planes, usually older, are much more polluting than people carriers.
  5. It seems that no rigorous consideration been given to public safety, not least because the planes would fly in so low over the town. In conclusion, there has been, in a number of significant areas an inadequate measurement of the impact of re-establishing Manston as a freight based airport. Thank-you for taking these points into consideration.
