I am in total favour of reopening Manston airport. Therefore I feel the DCO must be accepted . The Thanet and east Kent area are in desperate need of high-quality jobs and training. The airport would go along way towards solving this problem. Especially with a half £1 billion investment from outside investors costing the taxpayer nothing. There are arguments some stating that the airport would be detrimental to the Thanet area . This is scaremongering. Southend and Bournemouth with their airports do not seem to be suffering , in fact they seem to be thriving. The airport site is also based on the main aquafier for the Thanet area. To build houses on this site would seem to me detrimental to the whole area . The planning applications with the current owner of the site to build houses and industrial units have already come across serious objections from people like the MOD , Southern water and many others. Since the airport closure, the vast majority of the local population has been in favour of reopening the airport consistently. The 2015 elections prove this with most of the votes going to the parties that supported the reopening of the airport. This was the main theme throughout the whole campaign both for UKIP and the Conservatives . The only party which did not support the airport was the Labour Party who had A disastrous election. Please except the DC own application and support the Thanet and East Kent area. Thank you
