I have been a resident of Ramsgate for all my life, bar my time at university. Thanet is beginning again to become a place that people come to to relax and enjoy the sea. The town of Ramsgate is finally seeing a resurgence of tourism and people willing to spend money. The influx of people from London buying houses is starting to have a positive influence on businesses in town. The recommencement of flights, and especially night flights from Manston can only be deterimental to this. The landing flight path is directly over the harbour front and restaurants that surround it. The impact on the hospitality trade will be negative. This is nothing compared with the impact on the lives of the residents of Ramsgate as a result of the inevitable sleep deprivation.
