I believe Manston Airport must be revived and maintained to:

Retain a valuable resource in terms of a long runway, ideally situated to relieve already busy central London airfields
Provide an excellent diversion airfield, particular for larger aircraft and with relevance to recent ultra-long haul developments in flying from London
Provide local training and employment opportunities in a range of skills to the many people in immediate and surrounding areas, who wish to work in airport related industries (like myself, husband and so many others who have worked at Manston in the past)
To provide other employment and industrial developments in surrounding areas, due to new cargo opportunities
To provide new passenger services further down the line, to further alleviate London airports, and provide travel from a local airport
