I have major concerns regarding the impact that the air and noise pollution will impact on my health, that the high volume and frequency of flights will have on my lifestyle, particularly my ability to enjoy my garden and especially as I am contemplating retirement and hope to spend more time relaxing in my garden at home, enjoying the park opposite my home and other nearby open spaces.

The capacity of 12,000 plus air cargo movements, 1,000 per month, more than 30 per day means that we could be subjected to flights every 20 minutes if it was confined to 10 hours during daylight or every 40 minutes if spread evenly over 24 hours. Bear in mind that each flight requires take off and landing so this could be every 10 minutes throughout the day and potentially every 20 minutes throughout the day and night.

I am also concerned that we are likely to get aircraft that are banned from Heathrow and Gatwick at night on noise grounds and that the application allows for an annual noise budget bigger than Luton’s.

The combination of aircraft size and flight frequency leads me to feel that I will be unable to benefit from using my garden or any outside space within the immediate vicinity of my home.

All of this is without considering the wider impact of increased heavy goods and other vehicle traffic required to service the airport and transport the associated freight.

I am extremely disappointed that I have only received 1 communication from RSP, or any other party associated with this application, which only offered limited details of the proposal and which leads me to suspect that they have been attempting to push the application through before any residents realised what was happening.
