Below the main areas of concern:

  1. Transport Links in and out of airport.
  2. Business opportunities for the community.
  3. Noise levels.
  4. Rail links to London from airport. 4 Links to Ramsgate port via tunnel.
  5. Environmental impacts.

The above is a general overview of concerns. I would like to see rail freight links from the airport, so as to increase the amount of freight by rail which would remove heavy lorries from the roads.

My idea is to set up Freight depots throughout the country were freight could be transported by Rail and picked up at various freight depots and transported by road to there final destination. (Each freight depot would have a radius of 200 miles) This would save cost on fuel and limit the amount of lorries on already congested roads. This is looking into the future as the road system to date is insufficient to cope with future requirements. I did pass this idea onto Roger gale our MP. Also they say that a rail loop system will be in use in 10 years, so Manston would be even more viable. As the inspectorate you have to look into the future not just at the moment.
