I wish to make a submission on the basis that the benefits described by the applicant (e.g. high national demand for air freight, local job creation) appear to be exaggerated and at odds with both the outcome of previous commercial ventures at the airport and a general consensus among aviation experts.

I would also like to highlight that, were the airport to provide a credible alternative to other cargo routes despite all the evidence to the contrary, the disturbance to local residents like myself and impact on the wider environment would be profound. It is my belief that the applicant’s plans to counter these difficulties are insufficient, and that in combination with exaggerated benefits, this makes for an unbalanced application that I would welcome the opportunity to contest in greater detail.
