Dear Sirs

I am writing to you to state my opposition to the proposed DCO of Manston Airport by RSP Limited and to register as an interested party.

As a resident of the Village of Cliffsend it states in their documentation that it will have a severe adverse effect on the village.

Cliffsend is under pressure at the moment due to the proposed new parkway station, plus additional housing of greenfield sites with the village boundaries. The proposed application would by the final blow to the village.

Along with RSP announcing it has purchased the old Jentex Fuel Depot also located in Cliffsend, I presume this would mean HGV fuel tankers entering the village by Canterbury Road rest, a road that is inadequate for any sort of HGV.

RSP also failed to identify the effect its development would have on educational, religious and open spaces in the Village of Cliffsend. For example, the nearest Nursery to the former airport is located about 750M from the runway but is not even mentioned in the proposal. Along with the village church and the children’s playground complete with meadow, I find these omissions extremely concerning. I would like it noted that it clearly states in the RSP documentation that I should have received in writing notification of The RSP consultations events due to the distance I live from the former airport. I received nothing at all, Nor did any of my neighbours. I am also concerned by the chosen locations of the noise monitors RSP used, It appears they are all located with the boundaries of properties owned by members of the Save Manston Airport Association a lobby group actively promoting the return of Manston as an Airport. Surely RSP could have found more suitable locations for these monitors.

Yours Sincerely

Chris Barton
