As a Ramsgate resident on the proposed flight path I am against the disturbance cargo night flights will have on noise and particulate pollution. I am concerned about the effect on my son's breathing.
I do not believe it is a good idea for Ramsgate's development and will put off people from moving here.
As a Ramsgate GP I am concerned about the effects on health - we have a lot of patients with COPD and this will only worsen. There is good evidence that aeroplane pollution adversely affects health in a number of ways as does road traffic - and there will be a considerable increase in freight traffic day and night because of the airport.
I moved to Thanet 4 years ago and took up a job as a GP in my local area. There is a considerable recruitment problem for GPs nationally but it is worse than average in Thanet. I would not have moved here if I knew this airport plan was being considered.
