i am very distressed at the possibility that there may be a cargo hub at Manston. i reject this idea and of aeroplanes flying low over Herne Bay. I remember a few years ago, when a cargo plane flew over my house last time the airport was in operation and it was extremely distressing and loud and disorientating. The undercarriage of the plane was very visible as it was so low at the point it began its decent towards Manston. Originally we were told that the flight path was meant to be off the coast but the pilots seemed to prefer to fly along the land side of the coast right over my house and the beach. Herne Bay has worked hard to improve since the Sport Centre was removed from the pier. removing the eyesore lightened the atmosphere that this ugly building cast over the town which now is wonderfully improved. I fear that the proposal for cargo flights would completely ruin all the hard work and progress our town has made and would make a ghost town of Herne Bay. Wonderfully, Herne Bay was recently awarded 2nd best beach in the UK by Instagram. Why would any one come here if there was the possibility of the peace and quiet being shattered by monstrous noisy cargo planes. This would have a terrible impact on the appeal and jobs and businesses in the town, not to mention the well being of the residents. there are a lot of care homes in Herne Bay, how upsetting it would be for the elderly and infirm residents to have the god awful noise roaring over their heads when they should be resting. the impact on the economic well being of this town would be disastrous.
