The application has under-estimated the impact on the local community and shown little evidence that the plans can be supported financially, especially with regard to the expense involved in mitigating all the adverse detrimental effects. Job creation prospects are over-estimated and a freight facility is not something that can be used by the local community. Noise pollution, air pollution and water pollution have in the past affected not just crops but many businesses with stock stored outdoors. The effects of aircraft-related noise & air pollution on health, are well documented and in an area already struggling with high rates of economic deprivation and an ageing population, it will place an intolerable burden not only on the NHS but also on the local authority. The applicant cannot guarantee that the flight path will not go over densely populated areas, has no plans in the event of crashes or damage caused by anything falling from aircraft and it is unclear how any compensation could be funded.
