I am a Ramsgate resident, father of 2 small children and owner of a local business. I am concerned about the ecological impact and the negative effect that the airport will have on the environment and health, even more for those living under the flight path. I've been running a cafe for the last four years and there, people talk every day of this issue. No-one can see any good coming out of it and that makes me fear that many small businesses, like ours, might be forced to close down. I was already asked by people interested in moving to the area what my position on this matter is because they were having second thoughts. I honestly fear that it would be the worst outcome for all of us, I know of people who are already considering moving out. We have seen a beautiful transformation in Thanet in the last eight years. There is a real sense of community here and visitors feel attracted by how much people care and love the area and its progression. I fear a cargo hub at Manston Airport would end the social and economic development that the area is undergoing. There is a real need for housing and green areas and I feel that a development of that kind is the only good choice for the Manston Airport site. Please don't allow this airport to take over our lives. Thank you.
