The airport will provide much needed employment in both unskilled, semi and skilled work. The plans by RSP are robust. Post Brexit there will be even more need for excellent air freight facilities. There is a national need for air freight away from the London airports freeing up passenger slots while awaiting a third runway. There are good road links with the country and the prospect of a new Thames crossing opens up further opportunity. Good rail links with fast trains from Thanet. From all surveys carried out over 80% of Thanet residents want to see Manston open as they can see the benefits to both the local and National economy. Not affected by fog due to it's location and is a good diversional airfield. Parts still owned by MOD which are critical to national air safety and rescue. .
