With Manston Airport being so close to Europe it would make air freight movements far more accessible and safer than lorry drivers having to negotiate Calais, Dunkirk and other European ports from the gangs of illegal migrants. Our road network to the M2 and beyond have much improved and it would also bring much needed jobs to our deprived area. Thanet needs the associated companies and jobs that go with a vibrant and much needed airport which would provide extra runway capacity in the South East. In the past I have used Manston Airport to fly to Portugal for a holiday and a member of my family used Manston for flying to and from home from Dubai. Travelling to Gatwick, Heathrow and Stansted can be an absolute nightmare with traffic accidents etc.
