I strongly object to the reopening of Manston Airport. Having lived in the town for several years when the airport was open, I have experienced the deafening noise and pollution when flights came over. If the airport were to reopen, the flight path would be directly above a heavily populated area. It would be disruptive to the lives and detrimental to the health and well being of thousands of families. It would also have a negative effect on the thriving tourist industry, and local economy. There would also be a serious impact on property values. Ramsgate is a beautiful, historic town, full of residents and small businesses all working towards realising the town's full potential. A flight path over the town would destroy all of this.
