The prospect of employment and the reopening up of the airport are very important for the area and Kent as a whole. With the prospect of 17.5 thousand dwellings due to be built by 2031 in the area there is very little chance that sufficient skilled employment can be provided for everyone. The proposals put forward by RiverOak Strategic Partners (RSP) provides the opportunity for skilled permanent employment on an array of sites and positions plus advantages for employment for unskilled labour. We are all aware that with Brexit looming this will be a golden opportunity for Manston Airport regarding inward and outward movement of freight as the whole world will be opened up to the UK for trading without restrictions. Heathrow and Gatwick Airports have admitted that they are near to capacity for freight movements. A dedicated Freight Airport would go a long way to alleviate the necessity for an additional runway at either.
