The current employment situation in Kent and Thanet in particular shows high levels of young people out of employment, this proposed development should it proceed and be allowed to happen will help to reduce those levels at the same time giving the young people worthwhile training for careers in Aviation and associated industries.
The road infrastructure around Thanet suffers from gridlock at certain times of day and any sort of mass housing project will only exacerbate this situation, the road links to the airport have seen upgrades recently including the installation of dual carriageways, which will be of benefit to freight operations and potentially passenger services at a later date.
Manston has a rich history of aviation, and the proposed development captures and preserves that rich history and looks towards the future.
Kent in generally and Thanet especially has been deprived of serious levels of investment for far to long, this proposal will give a massive boost to the local economy, and in doing so lift the local people out of the socio-economic void they are currently in, real employment will help people to eventually buy their own property thereby further boosting the local economy.
With passenger services there will be an increase in tourism and demand for the associated service industries, (hotels, taxi services etc.).
