An open Manston Airport gives our community here on the Isle of Thanet the potential of not just jobs for skilled or non skilled workers both at the airport, but for the surrounding community and business. Children on the Isle of Thanet that gain good grades on leaving school have two options, work in low paid, sometimes seasonal work or move away from the Isle of Thanet, those children who for whatever reason, fail to get low or no grades have a bleak future here, as jobs are not plentiful as in other parts of Kent. RiverOak have promised a future for these kids in a way nobody else have when the airport re-opens, educationally, apprenticeships and skilled employment. There are many skilled engineers here who have to travel far and wide, who could easily take up jobs at Manston Airport, there is also a high rate of unemployed unskilled people who could also find themselves in full employment at Manston Airport. the need for jobs in this area of Kent has to be a good reason for the reopening of Manston Airport as a Cargo Hub.

The re-opening of Manston Airport will give the are of Thanet and East Kent a major boost for companies not just in the UK but from abroad to invest in the area, therefore creating jobs not just at the airport but around the whole of EAST KENT. Manston Airport has lacked a credible investor with money to invest in it, which is why it had failed in the past. before Manston Airport was closed it was making a profit from it's import export business, which was why the was such an uproar locally when the airport was closed. If Manston Airport does not re-open the whole of Thanet will become a version of the North East of Enland in the 1980's, high unemployment, people with poor health and children growing up with no hope of a job.

So its imperative that Manston Airport is operational again.
