Since the closure of the former airport myself and my family have enjoyed a better, quieter and less polluted life, and as such I believe out of a basic human right for us to do so. I am sure that I speak on behalf off the silent majority of the population of ramsgate who have watched in disbelief over the many years of political chest puffing of those who feel it should once again open. I have loved in ramsgate pretty much all my life and under the flight path for 20 years.. I do remember the extreme noise of old 747 cargo planes passing right over head. The noise so extreme that even with all double glazed doors and windows shut you were still unable to hear yourself think. Fortunately my young children arrived after the constant closures of carriers at the airport so have not been disturbed.. Being on the flight path will have a great detrimental affect on ramsgate as over regent years a regeneration has taken place without the need fior an airport. The threat of flights and the linked levels of pollution(both air quality and noise) will be massive negative step. Manston was a historic airfield and this should be celebrated in part of any development that takes place. The land in the area is in short supply and the position of manston means it will never be a viable business as had been proved again and again. I am wholly against any airport development and ask that a full poll of homes in ramsgate that are on the flight path should be undertaken.. The views of SMA are the views of people who do not live in Ramsgate or on the flight path. I would rather the land be used for affordable housing for young families and starter homes, rather than building on the fast disappearing fields and open land in thanet. An airport would not generate any significant number of jobs and those would be taken by people from outside the area. Housing schools and facilities that can be used by all is what is really needed.
