There are a few issues. Road System. Many lorries cut through hinckley already instead of using the A5 because the A5 is often snarled up as its too small and also has the low railway bridge which causes problems on an almost weekly basis. I personally call Hinckley Gridlock Hinckley as its usually so busy with gridlocked traffic. To add hundreds of extra lorries and cars to our roads is unthinkable. The roads simply cannot cope. We have no local based ambulance station which is a travesty in itself for our now very large community. Snarling up traffic will not help emergency vehicles get around. Our recent local bus routes have been cut massively including buses to serve the large hinckley school which is where i and many others have to drive to to collect children. It also means more cars on the roads we can't cope with more and lorries on top. If the A5 bridge is sorted and A5 is widened a ban on lorries in the middle of hinckley then and only then can this scheme be considered. I also worry about the impact on Burbage Common. We are losing a lot of additional green space at present due to housing being built. At this rate there will be no countryside left.
