This proposal will have a damaging effect on the wildlife and countryside. There is already a railhead on the A5/M1 junction 15 miles south of Hinckley. The proposed link road off Normandy Way to connect with the Rail Head will consequently increase heavy traffic densities along the Hinckley Perimeter Road. This by-pass was supposed to be a quicker route to allow traffic not to pass through the town centre. However, the countryside along this road has become a prime target for ribbon development with two housing estates being built just before the Wykin village roundabout. With the massive increase in heavy goods vehicle movements will result in grid lock at peak times when around late afternoon and early morning the three transport sites including the Tesco Distribution centre become active. With the change to the M69 exit south at Sapcote Road being made into a full junction this will only increase the noise and pollution along the route not to mention the disruption during the build phase of this ill thought out project that should be stopped.
