The point I would like to make is that adding a rail connection to the recently huge expansion at Magna Park, just down the A5 trunk road, would have huge benefits for the local roads and people who have to pass through that area. Why has Magna Park been allowed to develop in all directions, swallowing up prime farmland when there is no rail link. I would also point out that there are other rail-enabled facilities in the area, such as the East Midlands Gateway and the development between the WCML and the M1 in Northampton. Is there really a demand for additional warehousing facilities?
