Main issues and impacts:- 1. Impact on the environment. Burbage Common is a public space that is used by residents in the Hinckley and Burbage area and further afield. It is a home to much wildlife and fauna and the proposed development will have an impact on this area despite the proposals put forward to try to reduce this. Namely, fields to be used will rip out the endangered skylarks, the increased noise levels and the flooding of the land which is already on a floodplain wiping out irreplaceable flora and fauna. 2. Infrastructure. Although the proposals have stated opening the M69 at junction2 and building new link roads between A47 and A5, Hinckley and Burbage already have severe traffic congestion through the town and villages and if any accidents or roadworks happen on A47, A5 or M69 traffic is diverted through the towns and is detrimental to residents with added car fumes, noise and delays. The town can not cope with anymore traffic. Personally, as a local resident this development I feel this will have a direct impact on my health and well being as I use the common daily for exercise, walking dogs etc. I am also concerned I will hear the noise of the proposed development in my home day and night despite the proposed barriers.
