This will have a major impact on the A5 which is an extremely busy trunk road supporting heavy goods throughout day and night. I have seen no evidence at all that the proposals include any money to upgrade this road to duel carriageway from the M69 to Witherley to join the existing dual carriage. At peak times this road is a car park and even off peak can be arduous. Further, the railway bridge at Hinckley suffers regular hits from heavy goods waggons and this proposal will only make that situation worse. Further, major housing development off the A5 (near the Longshoot) have already placed additional traffic onto this major trunk road, again without any help from the developers to improve the surrounding road network and in particular, the A5.
