I feel I must object hugely to this proposed facility being built by Tritax Symmetry. Traffic on all roads in the area has already reached over capacity. There are already rush hour queues and congestion at the M69/M1, M69/A46 and M69/A5 junctions where traffic is backed up on the motorways and A5 and all the way through the two roads that link Burbage with Hinckley, Rugby Road and Sapcote Road. There are two low bridges (railway), one on Rugby Road Burbage, and one on the A5 Hinckley which are often hit by high lorries, blocking roads until the road is cleared and the railway bridges checked for safety. This can also stops rail traffic until safety checks are done. The estimated 20,000 road movements a day would greatly impact on an already overloaded local road system, with minimal added rail movements. Tritax originally said that this facility was being built to support the automotive industry which was to build a large battery installation in the area, this has now been moved to Europe, and their revised reasoning could be fulfilled by existing facilities close by which are not at capacity (Rugby DRIFT) This facility is due to be built very close to Burbage Common, with wildlife being effected hugely by the building and operation of such a huge scale facility with increased light, noise and dust to name but a few. This is the main area where local residents go to enjoy nature in the area, it would be a tragedy to Burbage Common should this facility go ahead. Lastly, but by no means least, the impact on local residents as a whole has to be considered. This will have nothing but a massive negative impact on those of us living in the area. Please consider local residents when making the planning decision.
