Although I am personally disappointed that the proposal is in close proximity to where I live, I am broadly supportive of efforts to move freight from road onto rail due to the myriad environmental benefits this would bring. I live very close to the proposed access road (Hawthorn Grove, Sapcote on The Limes estate), and accordingly, there are three things I would like to see from the development: 1) A net improvement in the quality of publicly accessible countryside (enhancement of the existing public footpaths with routes including greater planting and landscape features). 2) Sufficient noise insulation that is both functional and attractive (dense planting and earthworks that obscure acoustic fencing, for example). 3) Very robust evidence that air quality will not be diminished by the proximity of the access road to houses.
