The location of this rail terminal is wrong on every level. The former Bitteswell aerodrome near Lutterworth is a forest of huge warehouses without any rail access. Why ruin virgin farming land and land of SSI with warehousing that will not serve the immediate area. It would be more beneficial to have the rail access where it is serving existing infrastructure. Stoney Stanton/Barwell and all the other villages have a road system designed for the horse and cart era. Attracting 1,000's of workers and 100's of HGV's is going to seriously impact the quality of life in this area. The development is not going to be able to source a volume of local workers as the pool of warehouse staff nearby must be limited due to all of the existing similar type jobs in the area therefore sucking in workers from afar all using cars. What chance will wildlife have with concreting the countryside and polluting the night with bright light. The rail line from Leicester to Burton is littered with disused industrial land and would benefit from improvements that could have a dual benefit of reintroducing passenger traffic. If this was rail focussed development why haven't the developers considered reopening Elmesthorpe station to provide public transport to their site. This is a crass development to grab building land for Warehouse Development with a façade that it is rail infrastructure.
