THIS DEVELOPMENT SHOULD NOT BE ALLOWED TO PROCEED BECAUSE: 1. The position and size of the interchange. 2. There is no need for it when there are a number of existing similar freight and storage hubs in the area. 3. The effect it will have on the local environment in terms of noise, light and exhaust pollution and the adverse effect it will have on the adjoining Burbage Common. 4. The adverse effect the extra traffic will have on roads and villages in the wider area - a large proportion of these were not designed to take vehicles of the size and weight involved. The only realistic way to the freight areas at Magna Park, DIRFT and those adjoining the A5 are via Sapcote and Sharnford and it would be naive to even think that lorries will not use this route rather than along the M69 and on to the A5. 5. The loss of a large area of productive agricultural land. 6 From a personal point of view, the adverse effect it will have on the lives of those in properties alongside the A47 and A447 - both these roads are already full to capacity from about 07.00 to 18.00 with high levels of noise and exhaust pollution from traffic queuing at the Normandy Way/Ashby Road junction for periods of the day. 7. The difficulty that residents of Cornwall Way and adjoining streets will have in entering and exiting - this is the only access road.
