This interchange seems unnecessary when one has already been put in place only 20 miles up the road at Castle Donnington. If there has to be another one it should be part of the Magna Park complex only 5 miles down the road from this location which would reduce the road miles to the warehousing from the train. With the current proposal, the impact on the roads in and around Hinckley and the neighbouring villages is going to be even worse than it is at the moment, where there is already congestion from poor road infrastructure caused by the cramming in of even more houses in with no consideration for adequate infrastructure, let alone the jump in traffic brought about by the Amazon and DPD warehouses already in place on the south and east of Hinckley. This has made it even more important the A5 is duelled from the M69 to Atherstone to cope with the truck movement from these warehouses and the additional traffic coming from the huge housing estate being completed north of Nuneaton and adjacent to the A5 between the long shoot and Higham lane roundabout when long delays occurred before the building of the estate at rush hour. There needs to be thorough review of the road, and other services, infrastructure in this area before any more building is permitted.
