I completely disagree with what is planned on firstly, an environmental front. We need the greenfields and hedgerows not just for our own mental health an well being but for nature, which is under threat from all sides. We cannot afford to keep losing our greenfield sites and replacing them with tarmac and concrete. Besides the flooding risk, there is the reduction in productive farmland which will make us even more reliant on food from abroad and the damage to nature in general; we have lost so much in our natural world already and have been warned by figures such as King Charles, Sir David Attenborough and Chris Packham about the damage being done which is irrepairable. There MUST be brownfield sites which could and SHOULD be utilised as a priority. Also, the village of Stoney Stanton suffers already from issues with traffic which will only become worse with more building in the area. The roads through our village, as many others, were never built for the amount of traffic which already passes through. That situation will only be exacerbated by even more traffic-in turn creating more air pollution. I cannot stress enough how much damage this project will cause-physically and mentally to all of the villages and villagers affected by this proposal. At some point, we have to accept the truth that we cannot keep building on greenfield sites. We are an island and there have to be limits. We are already overly dependent on resouces form overseas, why make that even worse when there is no need.
