Environmental impact to the area including: Noise pollution Light pollution Air pollution The railway infrastructure is a cross country network and is not electrified and therefore can only operate diesel trains which does not support net zero Increased road traffic in the local area which already has too many lorries and warehouses, making roads dangerous and impacting ‘The Road to Zero’ which supposedly is to reduce exhaust emissions from road transport and rail through a number of mechanisms; this is extremely important . The proposed location in next to Burbage woods and common, this is a green corridor for for wildlife and recreational area for local people. The land surrounding has many public footpaths and is used to grow crops. Something we need to continue ensure we can be more self sufficient as a nation, we currently import 48% of the total food consumed and the proportion is rising. Therefore, we need a thriving agricultural sector to feed itself and drive economic growth.
