I am concerned about this development and am opposed to it for the following reasons: - big potential for unacceptable increase in noise and light pollution in the area. - destruction of valuable green space in the area - negative impact on the adjacent Burbage woods and common, which is currently a haven of peace, wildlife and tranquility for locals. - unacceptable increase in traffic through local villages, the road infrastructure for these villages will not cope with additional commuter and freight traffic. - further risk if flooding, as yet more green space which absorbs rainfall is concreted over. - I have a very big question as to whether this facility is actually needed, as there are other rail freight hubs in the near vicinity. - opening up of Junction 2 on the M6 will make even more traffic come through Sapcote and Stoney Stanton primarily, as well as other local villages such as Sharnford. - based on the type of warehousing and freight proposals, I do not believe that there will be 8500 jobs created for local people.
