Along with many local residents we are extremely concerned about the impact the proposed development will have on this area. Stoney Stanton is already a very busy village in terms of traffic and this is bound to increase further with lorries leaving and entering the site, not only when it is completed but in its development; the proposed site is several miles from any distribution centre. The effect on the air quality will be a problem, particularly for young children and anyone with respiratory problems. I understand we cannot halt progress, but it worries me that this part of the Midlands is turning into one giant warehouse with very little green space in between, resulting in villages losing their identity and individuality. The proposed site is very close to Burbage Common, an important area for the environment with its biodiversity. How will this affect the ecology? The increased amount of light pollution and noise from the area itself is a real concern and together with the use of large goods trains and then lorries to distribute the goods the impact will be extremely detrimental to the area, I strongly object to this development.
