Environmental impact & Quality of life The destruction of greenbelt countryside, the displacement of wildlife and bring more chaos to our already busy roads. It will also cause a significant rise in harmful air pollution and with the operation being 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, and 10 years to build there will be no respite for local residents from additional road/rail line noise leading to a serious increase in air pollution which comes at a serious cost to local residents health and wellbeing. The increase of workers coming to the area, will bring with it more potential for big increases in traffic at staff changeovers. This may cause workers to want to park their cars outside of the new proposed HNRFI so they can get to work easier and faster by foot. This will impact on surrounding villages with more parked cars clogging and blocking small roads. I would also like to highlight the more serious impact of more lorries in the Elmesthorpe area, particularly along Station Road as this would not be able to take the additional overspill of traffic when there are accidents or motorway closures. The road is already busy with pathways that are not safe or wide enough for pedestrian use and I feel very vulnerable when walking along this pathway with my dog because it is too close to the road and you can feel the dangerous draw of a strong wind pull caused by HGV vehicles already using it. The turning from Roundhills onto Station Road is also a very dangerous right turn as you cannot see enough ahead to pull out safely and if this is to become an even more busier road then there is a greater potential for even more accidents at this dangerous junction.
