This proposed plan is not part of any local development plan. The area does not need swathes of countryside concreted over to satisfy the profit needs of a developer. If this development goes ahead, it will have a huge noise impact on those near the railway line in Elmsthorpe and Sapcote due to the increased rail traffic. Local people will lose large parts of countryside that they currently use to walk - impact on their mental health. Traffic volumes will increase - lorries will increase air pollution (I thought we were trying to reduce that). Too much of the countryside is already being used to erect large warehouse complexes (Magna Park). We do not need more. Finally it is described as a plan ... a plan has timescales, goals, what gets built first, when, length of time taken. There has been no plan. It is a speculative development whose details we will only see if it is approved and then it will be too late and the public will have not say.
