  • Building it will directly affect one of the best and free open areas for the public in Hinckley - Burbage common and Woods is one of the only green areas that is accessible on foot/bike to many in the Hinckley area, making the space less attractive due to high levels of noise would be less than ideal. - Burbage common is already effectively a drainage platform for most of the houses built higher up on Olympic way and near The Hinckley school, it is already very boggy and wet, even in summer months, and building a site of this size nearby would greatly affect this asset, and likely compromise it so it becomes unusable for more times of the year. - Noise from the M69 is already heard every evening, in fact there is another "train like, droning" noise that no one seems to be able to identify, that occurs every weeknight, sometimes weekends. noise travels from that area further afield due to the topology of the area, so building the terminal will certainly make this worse. - The surrounding area (Leicester Road/Bradgate/Buttlane) is the most sought after area in Hinckley, building this would certainly reduce this pull factor, and make the town of Hinckley less desirable for others and push people further a field. Local residents would probably suffer financially from this should they want to sell their house and move on.
