I am the member of Parliament for the constituency of Bosworth. Although the proposal itself is not within my constituency, it has the potential to significantly impact Hinckley, the surrounding villages and local infrastructure. In addition, the proposed A47 link will be located in my constituency. At the beginning of 2022, I sent out over 12,000 paper surveys to local residents about this proposal. I have had a total of 1,090 response to my survey both in writing and via my website. The overall message I have received from my constituents about the HNRFI proposal is that they are against the project (96.2%). The main objections they have are the environmental impact (79.8%) and the burden on existing infrastructure (72.2%). I share their opposition and concerns. I intend to make further, more detailed, representation during the Examination.
