The proposed location is totally unsuitable from an environmental and infrastructure viewpoint, the South Leicestershire area is already saturated with warehouses, distribution depots and a major rail freight terminal. The M69 is already very congested - particularly at the M1 junction - and additional junctions to bring further traffic will simply make things worse. The proposal results in a much higher concentration of road transport and HGV's in the locality where the freight ceases to be transported by rail and needs onward transport and distribution. To a large extent the proposal simply results in a redistribution of carbon release. The proposal will simply worsen the problem of too many HGV's on the roads locally. The is no proven need for this project.
