I object to the proposal because: It would have a detrimental effect on the surrounding area particularly Narborough where there is a big problem with cars queuing while the barrier is down, the proposal is to increase this both in the number and length of trains. The environmental impact of such a huge development would massively impact on the green space that is Burbage Common. Such a proposal will increase the amount of traffic in an already congested part of the county. Birmingham have indicated there is no rail capacity there to accept the increased volume of trains proposed. There is already a similar development at Magna Park which though not yet having rail links at present, could be considered. The project seems to be a speculative attempt by the developers who would greatly benefit financially if it were to be accepted. The number of negatives, the environmental damage, a blot on an already overdeveloped area and the congestion increases on the surrounding area out way the questionable promises of relieving the roads of freight, added local jobs and an enhanced infrastructure. Perhaps even more telling is that the developers have already had this proposal turned down by all the effected local authorities because it was deemed woefully unprepared.
