  • WHY IS IT NECESSARY? Number of existing hubs locally, no automotive industry locally, massive distribution parks already exist, Warehouse space availability locally, * ENVIRONMENTAL IMPACT removal of green space, loss of usable farmland, effect upon Burbage Common, light pollution, air pollution, noise pollution, 24hour 7day operation plans wildlife impact negative visual impact of proposed units Effect of all above felt by villages of Burbage, Sapcote, Stoney Stanton, and Elmsthorpe. * TRAFFIC IMPACT Extra HGV traffic locally and on M69, extra traffic in general given up to 8,000+ jobs, M69 and M1 junction already massive issue, proposed southern access opening of M69 will increase local traffic. The day to day life of all residents locally is likely to be severely impacted for many, many years of the build, and beyond, with irreparable damage to the environment. The benefit to both local and indeed national economies would be minimal, if indeed, even positive, and thus the development is completely unnecessary.
