I live locally and am keen to be kept informed about how this application progresses. There is a lot of nervousness in the local area about this proposed development. We’ve seen a huge amount of change in and around our village over recent years due to housing and industrial space developments with many more on the horizon. Although I am in favour of utilising railways for transporting goods, I’m not in favour of the location of this development. I am mostly concerned about the impact it will have on local wildlife, the environment, and the increased traffic seen locally. The main route through Sapcote is incredibly narrow at the bend. Even if restrictions are out in place to restrict HGVs from travelling through the villages, the introduction of the slip roads to and from Coventry will increase the number of cars and other vehicles ‘rat running’ through the villages. We already struggle with congestion. We’re also regular visitors to Burbage Common and I worry that this proposed development will negatively impact on the tranquility and beauty of this much loved place.
