Having grown up and lived in Elmesthorpe for the first 28 years of my life, I can honestly say it was the most fulfilling place I have ever lived and this is purely down to its connection with nature and countryside. Having moved to Rugby over a year ago I have seen all the developments of the DIFRT network which has already taken up hundreds of acres of land however has been connected to main routes already being used and serviced with very little impact on communities. In addition the new village of Houlton which has created over 600 new homes. As such comparing the two proposition has shown me that the location of this application is not right, none of the surrounding villages could cope and withstand the extra traffic / HGVs, there would be increased noise pollution and also accidents and it would make the surrounding area much less desirable due to the dramatic change in landscape. However my main concern is the wildlife destruction and impact on UK produce/farming also, my family have been involved in generational tomato growing which was first started by my grandfather. We are all aware of the crisis surrounding nature such as declining bee population which runs the risk to pollinators as well as all the pollution this would add to the land / air. As such I highly disagree with this proposal and suggest is best placed outside of this current location and perhaps investigated further around the rugby area considering the links to freight terminals there alongside M1 and M6 links also.
