The local Road infrastructure is not fit for purpose without the introduction of the rail freight hub. The proposals do not address adequately how they will deal with the increase in lorries on the surrounding roads which are already overcrowded and in a poor state of repair. It will lead to localised gridlock on a regular basis. Whilst the plans state that the idea is to reduce th3 number of lorries on th3 road it is just moving them to this area from another part of the country. There are already several rail hubs in the surrounding areas which service warehouses and this facility is not required. In addition many warehouses are currently sitting unoccupied having been built speculatively. Is this additional facility needed as it seems that the other facilities have adequate capacity now and into the future. With DIRFT and Magna Park still being expanded which are only a short distance away this new facility is in totally the wrong location and will cause localised overcrowding.
