This project has in NO way considered the impact on the lives of the people of Narborough & the surrounding areas. All representations about the problems that would be caused have been glibly brushed aside, which clearly demonstrates that those who want this project to go ahead either do not understand, or simply do not care at all. The impact of the massive increase in pollution, traffic, travel delays experienced by locals travelling by both road & rail, & the huge increase in lorries on the road at both ends of the development have not been given mindful consideration. There is no doubt that the resulting impact of this project will destroy local communities. It is essential that anyone involved in assessing this project pays a visit to Narborough when the level crossing is in use. I am so angry & frustrated that the interests of business & making money holds sway over the lives of ordinary people. Those of us who work, volunteer & live in local communities are sacrificed so readily by those with an agenda. The idea of reducing traffic & pollution by having rail freight is laudable; however pushing even higher levels of traffic & pollution onto local areas that do not have the infrastructure to deal with it results in no environmental gain whatsoever & will, quite literally, destroy lives & communities.
